If you have a chimney that is not in use, it is best to make sure that it is capped off properly with sufficient ventilation top and bottom.

Be sure to regularly check your chimney stack for signs of eroding and other wear and tear. This way faults and concerns can be seen early and repaired before more serious issues occur.
